What is the Anger Management Program?
This is a 20-week program designed to address specific issues related to anger management and crisis resolution.

What does the Anger Management Program consist of and how can it help me?
This program includes education and group counseling. It can help you:

    What is the Domestic Violence Program?
    This is a 52-week program designed to address issues related to domestic violence, anger management and crisis resolution.

    What does the Domestic Violence Program consist of and how will it help me?
    This program includes education and counseling in a group setting. It can help you:
  • Understand violence and abusive behaviors and their effects
  • Develop anger control strategies
  • Learn basic conflict management and assertiveness
  • Improve communication skills

    DUI - Driving Under the Influence

    What is the DUI Program?
    A First Offender Program for those who have been cited or convicted of driving or intent to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, some prescription medication, or refusing to submit to a sobriety test.

    Is Axis DUI approved by Courts and DMV?
    Yes, we are a State Licensed Program recommended by the County Board of Supervisors, licensed by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs in compliance with California Code of Regulations.

    What DMV or court-ordered levels are available?

    All the following are First Offender
  • Wet and Reckless Program
  • Educations Sessions
  • A twelve-hour program when DMV does not suspend the driver's license, and the court agrees with the lesser vehicle code penalty due to a low blood alcohol concentration. This program meets two hours a week for six weeks.
  • 30-Hour Program
  • 3-month level I
  • For offenders with a blood alcohol level between 0.08 and 0.14. This program meets two hours a week for fifteen weeks.
  • 45-Hour Program
  • 6-month level II
  • For offenders with a blood alcohol level of 0.15 to 0.19. This program meets two hours a week for six months.
  • 60-Hour Program
  • 9-month level II
  • For offenders with a blood alcohol level of 0.20 and above meets two hours a week for nine months; also considered level II.

     

    What is included in the program?
    Education classes include lectures, videos and occasional written exercises related to:
  • The nature of addiction
  • The medical aspects of substance abuse use / abuse on the mind and body
  • Co-dependency and dysfunctional family systems
  • DUI and the law /cultural issues
    Handling stress and community support
  • 30, 45-hour and 60-hour programs include mandatory individual and group counseling

  • 45-hour program requires attendance at twenty hours of self-help meetings

    Program goals
  • To separate the occasion of drinking or drug use from the privilege of driving
  • To provide early intervention for borderline and harmfully involved drinkers.
  • Educate the participant on the seriousness of this zero tolerance offence

  • Insurance will not cover these fees.
  • Sessions are 2 hours once a week, there is no legal authority for accelerated programs

    Is this program available in Spanish?
    Yes, you may request Spanish sessions when you enroll in the program.

    Classes are provided Monday-Friday by appointment. Evening and Saturday morning classes are available.

    Drug Diversion

    What is Drug Diversion?
    A program for first-time offenders 18 years of age or older who have been ordered by the courts to attend.

    How long does the program last?
    This is a 20-week program.

    What does the program consist of?
    During the first 8-10 weeks the program addresses the harmful effects of drug and alcohol use.

    During weeks 11-20, sessions include group processing and support for recovery.

    What does the program cost?
    The fee is $360.

    Counseling groups: Tuesdays and Fridays 7:30-9:00 p.m.

    Proposition 36

    What is Proposition 36?
    This is a program for repeat offenders of drug and alcohol laws that provides an alternative to incarceration.

    Who is eligible to participate in the program?
    Participants must be referred by the courts.

    Fees
    There is no charge to participate in this program.
