Outpatient Treatment:

  • Mental Health (Children and Adolescents)
GENERAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

Axis Community Health offers counseling services for adults, couples, families and children who seek assistance with issues such as:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Parenting
  • Relationship difficulties
  • School behavior problems

    Staff
    • Clinical Psychologists
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists
    • Mental Health Counseling Interns (have completed Masters degrees and are completing the 3,000 counseling hours needed for licensure)
    • Mental Health Trainees (currently enrolled in Masters level programs).

    Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on income and family size. Medi-Cal is accepted.

    Anger Management/ Adult Men and Women

    What is the Anger Management Program?
    This is a 20-week program designed to address specific issues related to anger management and crisis resolution.

    What does the Anger Management Program consist of and how can it help me?
    This program includes education and group counseling. It can help you:
  • Feel in control
  • Handle anger positively
  • Improve relationships
  • Resolve conflicts
  • Reduce stress

    What is the Domestic Violence Program?
    This is a 52-week program designed to address issues related to domestic violence, anger management and crisis resolution.

    What does the Domestic Violence Program consist of and how will it help me?
    This program includes education and counseling in a group setting. It can help you:
  • Understand violence and abusive behaviors and their effects
  • Develop anger control strategies
  • Learn basic conflict management and assertiveness
  • Improve communication skills

    SPECIALIZED COUNSELING PROGRAMS:

    Comprehensive Youth Services (CYS)

    Whom does CYS serve?
    The program targets at-risk youth who live in Alameda County who have not entered the juvenile justice system. Juveniles who have entered the justice system are not eligible for this program.

    What is the goal of the program and what does it include?
    The goal is to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system. The program provides individual, family and group counseling.
